I have a new tax rate I need to apply.

Following are the instructions for updating your FDMS Network with a new tax
rate. They look like a lot, but they go pretty quickly once you've done one or
two items. It's a matter of creating a new Tax Code and updating all taxable
merchandise in the Price List(s) and Inventory.

Create a new Tax
Code:

Click on the Setup menu.

Click on Edit Speed Data.

Scroll to the
bottom of the Speed Data Categories, find TAXCODE, select the categor and click
	the Open button.

Your existing tax codes will already be listed.

Open
your current tax rate by double clicking on it.

Note down the information
already listed for reference. Some items may be left blank.

*DO NOT CHANGE
ANY INFORMATION ON YOUR CURRENT ENTRY. You must create a new entry for a new tax
	rate. Continue.*

Click Cancel.

Click Add.

Enter the information
following these rules (use the current tax code info you noted down previously
	as a guide):

Tax Code: Maximum of 5 letters/numbers. Make it similar to the
existing tax code (ex: change "TAX" to "TAX1" or "TAXa").

Description: Can be
longer; can include the rate in the description ("TAX 6.1" or "Tax 5.625"); this
is what you will see when you update the merchandise.

Local/State tax: enter
new rate in this format "6.25"; if there is no Local and/or State tax rate,
 enter "0.00".

Local/State limit: unless your state has limits, enter a large
 number such as "999999".

Article Rate: these can be left blank if the article
tax is not used in your area.

Click Save.

Click the Exit button.

Click
	the Update Cache button.

Click OK on the popup message.

Click the Exit
	button.

Update the Tax Code on Price List.

Click the Edit Price List
	button.

Select and highlight the Price List you want to edit.

Click the
Edit button in the upper right (not the "New" button below the list of Price
Lists) or double click on the Price List.

Scroll through the list of items to
	find the taxable items.

Click a taxable item.

Change the Taxable Code
dropdown to show the newly added Tax Code.

Click the Save button.

Repeat
for all taxable items. Repeat for each Price List. Multiple locales will require
updating each locale's Price List and Inventory (see next).

When all items
	are updated, close the window.

Update tax rate on Inventory:

Click the
	Inventory menu and select Manager.

Double click each item to open.

Change
the Tax Code to the new tax rate.

Click Save.

Repeat for each item in
	Inventory.

I need a new report for FDMS Network. Where do I start?

If you need a brand new report created for your office, please open a ticket in our online ticket system at http://support.aldorsolutions.com using the following information:

	Fill in your contact information.

	Select Help Topic:

Reports and Documents: Use when forms or reports need to be updated or created for FDMS Network.

Support: Use for issues or concerns regarding the use of FDMS Network, ASIMAS, LifeFiles, etc. Also for updates to your Aldor-hosted website or email accounts.

Systems & Networking: Use for changes to your domain DNS settings or if your system, website, or email account is not working.

General Inquiry: Use for any other questions not covered above.

Opening ticket to CREATE NEW REPORT:

Select Reports and Documents from the Help Topic drop down list.

 Select New from Report Type.

Create the name you would like to see your new report listed as under Report Name.

 Select Who Uses Report.

 Select Desired Export Type.

PDF format would be used for a form with a great deal of finicky detail, such as full versions of death certificates. It allows for fine detail and it locks the content in place so forms fit state requirements for spacing, size, etc.

Word is used for documents that can have some minor editing, such as letters, invoices, etc.

Excel would be used for many reports.

Fill in Report General Description, Formatting and Query Method as noted on the screen.

For the Marked Sample Report Details section, to get the best result, create a sample of what you would like the final report to look like. Number each item that would pull data from FDMS Network. In the ticket, itemize each of the numbered items and indicate where the data for it can be found (ex: “1. Vitals screen, Place of Death field”).

It is not required that you create a sample form, but if you don’t, it will likely take longer to develop the new report, which will cost more. The more information you provide, the more likely it will be that the report is what you want at a reasonable cost.

If you have created the form on the computer then save the file and attach it to Marked Sample Report. If you drew the sample form by hand, scan it and attach it. If you cannot scan it, it can be faxed to us at 972-398-6454, but please note in the ticket that a form was faxed. (I recommend completing the ticket before faxing so the ticket number is generated, which can then be added to the fax.)

Make any additional comments as needed.

 Click Open Ticket.

You will be sent a response email with the new ticket number listed as well as a link to your ticket to allow you to return to check the status of your ticket.
